Not the nicest of things to
hear. After spending $19
billion on bomb-finding
technology & gadgets
including – drones, metal
detectors, chemical
sniffers, and many others, Pentagonfinally
admits that it’s no longer
tech, but the dog. "Dogs are
the best [bomb] detectors."
According to a simple
military study, American
defense/military forces
could only locate about 50%
of the bombs planted using
bomb-detectors, while when
accompanied by dogs they
beat 80% of the bombs
planted.
DARPA ‘Dog’s
Nose’ Program failed? Seems
that way. Launched in 1997,
the project to build a
bomb-sniffer is at least as
good as a dog, is still just
on paper.

Huge Congratulations...!!

Congratulations to Les
Marino and his K-9 Boot
of the Canton Police
Department for competing
in the Ohio Police and
Fire Games. Not only was
Boot the youngest dog to
compete but he and Les
won the Gold Medal in
the tactical team
course. Les and K-9 Boot
also won the Silver
Medal in the overall
patrol team. Way to
go!!!! We knew Les and
Boot would make and
awesome team. |
